A mega-fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford may be set for 2025 as an agreement has reportedly been made.
Discussions about a fight between the super middleweight and super welterweight champions have been circulating for quite some time. However, it appears fans may finally get the fight they desire.
Rumors of the bout began to pick up steam in January when Alvarez met with Turki Alalshikh. As well as this, Crawford has been vocal about his desire for the fight and has shown an eagerness to face the Mexican.
However, reports now indicate that an agreement has been made between the two sides, with details emerging.

According to a report from Ring Magazine, Alvarez and Crawford will be set to face off in September as a part of the Riyadh Season boxing card.
The reports also indicate that the bout will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, which hosted Super Bowl LVIII in 2024. The stadium has a seating capacity of 65,000, however for a boxing match, the venue would be able to accomdate up to 71,835.
If Alavarez and Crawford do fight in the stadium, it will be the first boxing match to be held in the venue since its opening in 2020. In terms of other combat sports taking place at Allegiant Stadium, WrestleMania 41 will take place there in April 2025.
It is also understood that the bout will be contested at super middleweight, meaning Crawford will be coming up two weight classes to face Alvarez at a weight limit of 168 lbs.

In terms of boxing matches that are yet to be made in 2025, few may excite fans more than Alvarez vs Crawford.
Although Alalshikh has been in negotiations with the best boxers in the world, Alvarez vs Crawford is truly a dream matchup. Even despite the weight difference, fans are eager to see a showdown between two of the pound-for-pound best.
In reaction to the news, fans have not been shy about letting their excitement be known. One fan wrote on X, “Wow, what a fight. Turki does it again.”
Other comments from fans include, “It’s stadium-worthy,” and “This is going to be insane!”. Based on fan reaction, there are seemingly very few fight fans who are not happy about the fight coming to fruition.
