Canelo Alvarez may be the favorite for his clash with Terence Crawford, but one legendary trainer is backing Bud to shock the world on September 13.
Terence Crawford will jump up to Super Middleweight next week to challenge Canelo Alvarez in a dream fight for boxing fans.
The record-breaking, four-weight champion Crawford is chasing another world title in another weight class, hoping to add to his perfect 41-0 record in doing so.
Canelo is the reigning world champion at 168 lbs and boasts 26 more fights than his opponent.
However, one iconic personality thinks that his impressive resume won’t make a difference once the bell rings.

Teddy Atlas thinks Terence Crawford will beat Canelo Alvarez despite the difference in resumes
One man backing Crawford to beat Canelo is Teddy Atlas, the boxing trainer and commentator who spoke about the fight on his YouTube channel.
On The Fight with Teddy Atlas, he gave his view on the big fight on September 13 and backed Crawford to get one over on the Mexican great once they step into the ring.
Atlas admitted that, while Canelo has the better resume of the two boxers, Crawford has beaten everyone he has ever faced, joking that he’d “never seen a resume throw a jab”.
Atlas said: “I’m not disputing that Canelo has a better resume. I’m not disputing that. That’s not disputable. He does.
“But I’ve picked and I’ve seen through the history of this sport many fighters beat other fighters that have better resumes than them.
“Yeah. You know, it comes down to styles. And it comes down to how consistent you are in those areas you need to be consistent with the talents you have and how you put those talents forward versus the other guy’s talents.
“Canelo’s got the better resume, but the resumes ain’t fighting each other. The fighters are getting in there and fighting.
“Not the resumes. I haven’t seen a resume throw a jab yet. Have you, bud? You’ve been around with me your whole life. Have you seen a resume throw a jab?
No, I don’t think so. Everyone Crawford has been in with, he’s beaten. I know how smart he is, how talented he is, how special he is. There are certain qualities he has that I am banking on that you can’t really put on paper.
While Canelo is the favorite for this bout, Atlas is not the only one backing Bud to win.
Tim Bradley thinks Terence Crawford can use his photographic memory to beat Canelo Alvarez
One man who is also predicting Crawford to walk out of Las Vegas as the new Super Middleweight champion is former world champion Tim Bradley.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Bradley revealed Crawford had a photographic memory, something that Bud can use to figure out Canelo and go in for the kill during their fight.
Bradley said: “This dude has a photographic memory. He remembered. ‘Oh, he did this. Okay, I got something for that. Oh, he did this. I got something for that.’
“That’s a different level of a fighter. That’s why I’m telling y’all, he’s going to figure this out. Yes, he is. He’s going to figure this out and he’s going to win this fight.
“This dude is a winner. Trust me. Anytime I stepped and raised my game up, so did he.”
Crawford will have the chance to prove these pundits right when he finally tackles Canelo in their superfight at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 13, 2025.
