Boxing fans left stunned by Artur Beterbiev’s wrist exercises

Artur Beterbiev’s 100% knockout-to-win ratio is more understandable after boxing fans witnessed his incredible wrist exercises.

Beterbiev faces off against Dmitry Bivol as the two bid to try and become the undisputed champion of the light heavyweight division.

The 39-year-old is the only world champion to have a 100% knockout rate, although there are plenty of people who believe that run could come to an end.

To pull off such a feat requires great mental and physical strength and judging by his workout, Artur Beterbiev has that in abundance.

Artur Beterbiev shows off incredible wrist exercises

Three days out from the fight in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, both Beterbiev and Bivol took to the ring for their open workouts.

Bivol opted to perform a traditional pad workout whereas Beterbiev went for a more unorthodox approach to his workout.

Known as the ‘Iron Fist’ by fans, the Russian explodes from a press-up position down into a flat fist, a clenched fist, and then onto the back side of his hand. He then finishes off with a handstand.

“I’ve got sore wrists just from watching this,” wrote one fan.

A second commented: “He has built bricks as his fist with decades of training. You can wonder why he hit so hard.

“Nah, I wouldn’t risk my wrists like that…” said a third.

A fourth asked: “Why would you ever want to fight a man who trains like this?”

When is Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol?

One of the fights of the year is just around the corner and will take place in Saudi Arabia on Saturday 12 October.

Alongside a stacked undercard that features the first-ever women’s title fight in the Middle East between Skye Nicolson and Raven Chapman, as well as the hotly-anticipated rematch between Fabio Wardley and Frazer Clarke, this is expected to be a close call.

The headline fight is expected to start at 11 PM BST (3 PM PT, 5 PM CT, 6 PM ET).
