Ben Whittaker labeled ‘little diva’ and warned he will get knocked out for disrespectful fight style

Ben Whittaker’s next fight has been announced, as the unbeaten Olympic silver medalist takes on Ezra Arenyeka at Selhurst Park on June 15th.

Ahead of their scheduled fight, Ezra Arenyeka – who is 12-0 with 10 wins by knockout – has warned the entertaining Whittaker that if he showboats, he will get knocked out.

Ben Whittaker has become most well-known for his entertaining style, in which he showboats often during his fights. His last outing came against Leon Willings at the end of March, and after eight dominant rounds, he moved to 7-0.

Ezra Arenyeka warns Ben Whittaker about disrespectful showboating

In an interview with Sky Sports, Arenyeka hinted at Whittaker’s fight style being disrespectful, claiming that anyone can showboat, but there’s a reason they don’t.

“Every good boxer with rhythm can showboat, in my amateur days I used to showboat a lot, but I stopped for a reason, because I’ve grown as a fighter.” the 28-year-old said.

Whittaker had arguably his toughest out yet in his last fight against Willings, with ‘The Surgeon’ having to eat a few big shots for what seems like the first time.

The Nigerian, Arenyeka, has taken confidence from that fight and has warned that if Whittaker acts like a ‘little diva’, he will knock him out.

“Willings exposed him a lot. But it’s not just his last fight, every fight you can pick something.

“Obviously he is still acting like a little diva, like a little kid in the ring, so he is not grown yet. If he tries to do that with me, I will show him the level and make him look silly. That’s just the honest truth, he is going to get caught with my strong right and I’ll knock him out.” Arenyeka added.

In the main event on the card, Chris Billam-Smith looks to make his second WBO cruiserweight title defense as he takes on Richard Riakporhe.

Highly touted 19-year-old female featherweight, Francesca ‘Billion Dollar Baby’ Hennessy also appears on the card, as she looks to continue her impressive professional start.
