Anthony Joshua reveals latest prediction for Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury rematch

Anthony Joshua has revealed his latest prediction for the hotly-anticipated rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.

Oleksandr Usyk was victorious in the May 18 showdown in Saudi Arabia, defeating Tyson Fury to inflict a first career loss on the ‘Gypsy King’.

Fury will have the chance to get revenge when the two of the best heavyweight boxers go head-to-head again on December 21 and Anthony Joshua will certainly be keeping a close eye on how it plays out.

Joshua is preparing to face fellow British heavyweight Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium on September 21 but has regularly been linked with a blockbuster bout between himself and Fury.

Should Joshua beat Dubois next month then his natural next step would be to fight the winner of Usyk vs Fury two.

Having already fought and lost to Usyk twice, it’s not a surprise to hear that the former Olympic champion wants to test himself against Fury however if his prediction is anything to go by, he may be waiting a while.

During an interview with Queensbury Promotions, Joshua admitted that he has Usyk down as the favorite to win the December rematch.

He said: “I think it’s going to be a tough fight early on and then I feel like Usyk will edge it again.

“He’s a class operator and I feel like Usyk’s one of the best out there. That’s why I think he’ll win.”

Despite tipping his fellow British heavyweight for defeat Joshua is still adamant that a fight with Fury is what he wants and is determined to make sure it happens.

“It needs to happen, it’s just taking a long time, it needs to happen,” Joshua stressed.

“But he’s got his hands full and so have I. Let’s both do our jobs and we’ll see a positive 2025 I’m sure of it because we know that the people that are listening want to make good things happen.”
