Anthony Joshua could face heavyweight on a ‘scary trajectory’ next, though many believe it’s a mismatch

Anthony Joshua has been in talks for a two-fight deal with Turki Alalshikh, which may include a heavyweight who is reportedly on a ‘scary trajectory’.

Anthony Joshua will attempt to return from the most devastating loss of his career at the hands of Daniel Dubois with a potential two-fight deal with Turki Alalshikh.

Joshua could face Jared Anderson as one of the two names in the deal, with the other name being a heavyweight Joshua has fought before, but who, according to bizarre claims from one pundit, is on a ‘scary trajectory’.

Former champion claims Dillian Whyte is on a ‘scary trajectory’ ahead of possible Anthony Joshua rematch

Dillian Whyte, a man Joshua defeated in 2015, is the other name in the potential two-fight deal.

Joshua and Whyte faced one another early on in their careers for the British heavyweight title, with AJ winning via a brutal knockout.

As rumors of the deal came out, boxing pundit and former world champion Sergio Mora said Whyte is the perfect next fight for Joshua, stating:

“Dillian Whyte is on a scary trajectory right now, he’s on a run right now, he’s winning some fights. He deserves that fight.”

Whyte has just three wins in the last three years, a close-shave majority decision against Jermaine Franklin, and two stoppage wins over Christian Hammer and Ebenzer Tetteh, both lackluster opponents.

Dillian Whyte to return to the ring on June 7th

Whyte, who hasn’t fought since December, was set to face Joe Joyce this year. Whyte withdrew due to injury, and Joyce instead fought and lost to Filip Hrgovic.

He is now set to return against an unnamed opponent on the undercard of Fabio Wardley vs Justis Huni, who KO’d Joseph Parker’s old foe, at Portman Road Stadium in Ipswich.

It is unclear who the opponent will be, though Whyte has had some back-and-forth online with Lawrence Okolie, who made his heavyweight debut in December.
