Eddie Hearn has revealed Anthony Joshua vs Jake Paul is now in advanced negotiations.
What began as a joke or ploy for social media clicks is now a genuine possibility as a YouTuber-turned-top-fifteen-cruiserweight, Jake Paul, is in talks to face former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
Paul earned a world ranking with his win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, and is now seeking a colossal fight with the face of British boxing.
Hearn spoke on the fight, suggesting it is now in advanced negotiations, though made clear one thing – he does not think it is anything but a huge mismatch.

Eddie Hearn believes AJ will make Jake Paul quit boxing forever
In an interview with The Stomping Ground, Hearn spoke on the potential fight, which now seems more and more likely to happen in 2026, with AJ sitting out 2025.
“I’m not going to tell you it’s a fight of the year contender, I’m not gonna tell you it’s competitive. I think it’s a mismatch and I think it will mean that Jake Paul will leave the sport forever, because I don’t think he’ll ever step back in the ring after he gets chinned by Anthony Joshua.”
Hearn revealed Paul and AJ would earn an astronomical amount for the fight, and that the best part was that it could see Paul exit the sport for good.
Paul is 12-1 having lost to Tommy Fury, and has fought at heavyweight just once against an aged Mike Tyson.
Jake Paul is at every disadvantage against Anthony Joshua
Logan Paul was shocked as he stood beside AJ when the pair met, noticing the sheer size difference between a big guy and a giant in Joshua.
Jake, being the younger brother, will be dwarfed by Joshua even more, and will be at a huge disadvantage in terms of height, reach, weight, and experience.

Joshua has wins over Wladimir Klitschko, Dillian Whyte, Otto Wallin, Alexander Povetkin, and more, whilst Paul has beaten debutants, low-level boxers, and fighters trained in a different sport altogether.
The only thing Paul has is his confidence, but that won’t serve him well when a juggernaut is barrelling towards him.
