Boxing fans were treated to a thrilling spectacle at the AT&T Stadium, Texas, before last night’s controversial clash between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson.
Indeed, Jake Paul was able to outpoint his 58-year-old opponent through eight two-minute rounds, claiming his 12th professional boxing victory in unspectacular fashion.
But before the estimated 80 thousand fans in attendance witnessed a shadow of Mike Tyson return to the ring, they were able to feast their eyes on a vastly more captivating display.
In truth, Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano’s compelling rematch completely outshone the uninspiring main-event, adding a high degree of quality to Netflix’s first ever live boxing show.

Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano stole the show from Jake Paul and Mike Tyson
Taylor and Serreno’s first encounter took place back in 2022, when the two women’s boxing icons headlined a historic night at Madison Square Garden, New York.
After 10 rounds of enthralling action, Taylor edged a highly contentious split decision to retain her undisputed lightweight crown, leaving her opponent disgusted by the result.
But in their eagerly anticipated rematch last night, the Puerto Rican was presented with an opportunity to exact revenge on her rival.
And so, as they entered the ring for their co-main event clash, the pair picked up from where they left off, exchanging mesmerizing flurries thrown at a hellacious pace.
But then, in the fourth round, Taylor came marauding forward with her head and opened up a cut over her opponent’s left eye.
Sure enough, Serrano’s injury only got worse, and Taylor was eventually deducted a point for the reckless use of her head in round eight.
And yet, even with the point deduction, Serrano suffered another controversial defeat to the Irishwoman on points, despite landing a total of 324 blows compared to Taylor’s 217.

Amanda Serrano slams Katie Taylor over headbutt
As expected, Serrano voiced her frustration shortly after the bewilderingly wide scorecards were read out, accusing Taylor of landing an intentional headbutt.
Soon after, the 36-year-old reacted to a meme on social media – suggesting that the undisputed super light weight champion’s tactics were to cause the cut – by saying, “Lmfao.”
Regardless of the controversy, though, both Taylor and Serrano will undoubtedly be remembered as two of the greatest female fighters who ever lived.
