15-1 boxer is ‘lying’ about fighting Tommy Fury according to Misfits Boxing star

Tommy Fury has been out of the ring since his Misfits Boxing match with influencer ‘KSI’ and is expected to make a 2025 return.

Fury was scheduled to fight former UFC star Darren Till in January, however, the brother of Tyson Fury withdrew from the bout.

The withdrawal meant that Fury would remain unscheduled to fight, with his last performances coming against Jake Paul and KSI in 2023, winning both outings.

Although it is unclear who Fury may make his return against, the 10-0 boxer will supposedly compete in March, according to his alleged opponent.

Boxer with 15-1 record claims he is fighting Tommy Fury

Matt Floyd, a boxer with a 15-1 record, posted to his Instagram account claiming that he is fighting Fury on March 29th.

In his social media post, Floyd said, “The date for the fight has now been moved to the 29th of March. This fight is a culmination of everything I’ve worked [on].”

“I’ve known for two years that I would fight Tommy Fury. If he pulls out like he usually does, I will fight and beat Idris Virgo, Ty Mitchell, Anthony Taylor, or Darren Till, but I will fight Tommy eventually.”

Floyd’s 15-1 record extends back to 2021 when he made his professional debut. His first loss would come in 2024 when Floyd lost a split decision to Sirimongkhon Iamthuam in Bangkok.

The Australian Floyd last fought in December 2024 and is currently scheduled to fight in May 2025 against Bilel Latreche (34-5-1).

Anthony Taylor claims Tommy Fury is not fighting Matt Floyd

Misfits Boxing star Anthony Taylor has responded to the claims from Floyd, stating they are false.

Posting from his X account, Taylor wrote, “This dude is lying! He [Floyd] is all in my DMs begging to fight me every day.”

Taylor was also mentioned in Floyd’s Instagram post, claiming he would be willing to fight ‘Pretty Boy’ if a fight with Fury fell through.

Taylor’s last fight would see him step in as a short-notice opponent for Fury, facing Till. Although Billie Joe Saunders offered to fight Till, it was the Misfits star who faced the now 2-0 boxer.

However, the former UFC fighter Till would get the better of Taylor, finishing his opponent in round six.

Despite the tensions in the lead-up to the fight, Talyor and Till shared a wholesome moment following the fight. It is currently unclear who Taylor will face in his next bout.
