Shakur Stevenson is understood to currently be engaged to music artist Michelle Ragston, whose stage name is Young Lyric. Stevenson proposed to Ragston after his 2022 win over Oscar Valdez.

The two will compete for the WBC World Lightweight title, as Stevenson will aim to defend his belt.

In November of 2023, Stevenson took on 16-1 Edwin De Los Santos in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The two were competing for the vacant WBC World Lightweight title as Stevenson had left the super featherweight division a year prior.

Despite dropping some rounds to the fighter from the Dominican Republic, Stevenson was a clear winner by the time the bout reached the final bell.

Stevenson would have his final super featherweight bout on the 23rd of September 2022, however, missing weight for the fight, the champion was stripped of his titles.

This meant that his opponent, Robson Conceicao was eligible to win Stevenson’s titles, but they could not officially be defended.

However, a one-sided victory from Stevenson would mean Conceicao would not become champion. Following the weight miss, Stevenson moved up to the lightweight division.

Shakur Stevenson vs Oscar Valdez

Putting his WBO World Super Featherweight title on the line, Stevenson faced Oscar Valdez in a unification bout to try and claim the WBC title as well.

Meeting at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Valdez came into the bout with an impressive 30-0 record. However, Stevenson would hand him his first loss.

Winning clearly on the scorecards, Stevenson was able to put an exclamation mark on his performance with a knockdown in round six.

Shakur Stevenson vs Joet Gonzalez

Stevenson became a world champion for the first time in October of 2019, aged 24, as he defeated Joet Gonzalez (23-0) in Reno, Nevada.

The pair fought for the vacant WBO World Featherweight title, in what was Stevenson’s final fight in the division.

Despite it being the the toughest test of his career at that point, Stevenson had a dominant display over his fellow American.
