Who is Chris Eubank Jr? The son of a legend carving his own legacy in boxing

Chris Eubank Jr has managed to forge his own path despite being weighed down by the legacy of his father.

At the start of his career, Chris Eubank Jr was known as the son of former middleweight and super-middleweight champion Chris Eubank.

However, the IBO Middleweight Champion has made a name for himself as a dangerous fighter who has held multiple title belts throughout his career.

Eubank Jr’s fight with Conor Benn, rekindling their familial rivalry, has thrust both men even further into the spotlight for one of the biggest fights of 2025.

Chris Eubank Jr’s next fight

Eubank Jr will next step into the ring when he fights Conor Benn at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on April 26.

The pair will finally get their hands on one another after their 2022 fight was cancelled. It has moved to the bigger stadium after being originally planned to take place at the O2 Arena.

The current IBO Middleweight champion will not be putting the title on the line, however. Benn is coming up to Middleweight for the contest, and is not ranked at the weight class. He hasn’t earned a title shot, so this bout will be a non-title affair.

The bout is continuing the feud of their fathers, Eubank and Nigel Benn, who had some of the biggest British boxing matches of all time in the 1990s.

Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn was cancelled in 2022

The first proposed fight between Eubank Jr and Benn was supposed to happen in 2022. However, that bout was cancelled and rescheduled for three years later.

Benn was banned after failing two tests for the banned substance clomifene, putting his career at stake and the bout with Eubank Jr on hold.

Luckily, the English fighter was reinstated and cleared to fight again in 2024, leading the way for the titanic clash with Eubank Jr on April 26th, 2025.
