Carlos Adames was born on the 7th of May, 1994. He was born in Elias Pina, in the Dominican Republic.

Adames is the 33rd-born child of 35 siblings. The boxer has 22 brothers and 12 sisters. It was one of his brothers, Angel Santiago Adames, who got Carlos into boxing at 12 years old.

He currently resides in Las Vegas, U.S.

Competing for Adames’ WBC World Middleweight title, the two are a part of a stacked card headlined by Artur Betervbiev vs Dmitry Bivol.

Sheeraz is an undefeated British fighter and will be getting his first world title opportunity after 21 fights. He is going into the bout with Adames after a second-round knockout in September of 2024.

Carlos Adames vs Terrell Gausha

In Adames’ last fight, he would take on 24-3-1 Terrell Gausha from the USA in June 2024. The bout would be Adames’ first opportunity at a full world title, having only competed for an interim belt beforehand.

In a largely uneventful bout, Adames would be a convincing winner on the judge’s scorecards. However, many fans felt as if the bout was closer than the points tally indicated.

The win is a considered a defence of his WBC World Middleweight title as he was upgraded from his interim title.

Carlos Adames vs Julian Williams

In June of 2023, Adames would look to defend his WBC Interim World Middleweight title versus Julian Williams.

Williams came into the bout with a professional record of 28-3-1 as the pair met in Minneapolis.

It was a largely dominant performance from Adames who accumulated damage over nine rounds. Then, in the ninth round, the referee had seen enough, earning the Dominican Republican a standing TKO victory.

Carlos Adames vs Sergiy Derevyanchenko

Adames would take on Sergiy Derevyanchenko in December of 2021. The middleweights would clash in the Staples Centre in Los Angeles in an event headlined by Gervonta Davis vs Isaac Cruz.

The Ukranain veteran went into the bout with a 13-3 record, however, his record would accumulate another loss after the bout.

Although both fighters had success in the entertaining clash, Adames would do enough to maintain his unbeaten record.

Although one judge scored the contest a draw, Adames would win the fight via majority decision. The win would set Adames up for a shot at a world middleweight title.
