During his stint in the sport, ‘The Louisville Lip’ had many an intense rivalry. Ali once got into a fight with Joe Frazier in the middle of an interview.
Alas, having competed in different eras, he never had the chance to face Marciano until one man came up with a bright idea.

Who won ‘The Super Fight’ between Muhammad Ali and Rocky Marciano?
With the world desperate to find out who would’ve won between Muhammad Ali and Rocky Marciano, Murray Woroner concocted a plan.
In 1969, he filmed the icons sparring for 75 one-minute rounds, and then used probability formulas entered into a computer to find out the result.
The following year, the movie released in theaters, with fight fans around the world, grabbing their popcorn to watch the pair of warriors exchange leather.
Interestingly, there were two versions of the film. In the edition that hit screens in the USA, Canada and Mexico, Marciano battered his rival eventually finishing him in the 13th round.
Meanwhile, European audiences witnessed Ali landing slick shots on ‘The Brockton Blockbuster’, opening up a cut that resulted in the end of the contest.

Sadly, the simulated contests are the closest we’ll ever come to finding out who truly would’ve emerged victorious between Ali and Marciano.
Regardless, the pair both carved out remarkable legacies, cementing their statuses as the best of their eras.
While ‘The Greatest’ made a reputation for trash-talking his opponents, he seemingly had a great deal of respect for the man who came before him.
In an interesting interview, Ali said whether he thinks he would’ve beaten Marciano.
