Terence Crawford is set to face Canelo Alvarez in a mega-fight between two pound-for-pound stars.
Terence Crawford is coming off his toughest fight yet against Israil Madrimov but is preparing to put his undefeated status on the line against Canelo Alvarez as he moves up two divisions to fight the face of boxing.
Crawford, who Kell Brook thinks will lose to Canelo, was, however, close to facing a different world champion not too long ago.

Terence Crawford was close to facing former champion Regis Prograis
Regis Prograis said in an interview with Pro Boxing Fans that he was supposed to fight Crawford, who KO’d David Avanesyan, a while back, long before the Canelo fight came to fruition.
When asked for his prediction for the Canelo vs Crawford fight, Prograis said: “We were supposed to fight. […] Crawford was undisputed, and I was coming up; I was next in line for one of those belts. He went up to 147, he let all the belts go, and I grabbed a belt.”
The fight never came to pass, and Prograis’ career has seen a fall from grace recently, as he suffered back-to-back losses to Devin Haney and Jack Catterall. He also lost to Josh Taylor.
Regis Prograis set boxing’s worst world record against Devin Haney
In his fight with Haney, Prograis set the most undesirable world record in all of boxing.
He set the record for fewest punches landed in a 12-round fight, landing just 36 punches on Haney in their entire contest.
That equates to just one punch a minute.
