On Saturday night, Rico Verhoeven will aim to write the next chapter of his remarkable story, when he goes head-to-head with Levi Rigters, in an eagerly-anticipated rematch at Glory: Collision 7, inside the Gelredome in Arnhem, Netherlands.
The first match-up was nothing short of incredible, with the icon hitting the canvas after his opponent landed a powerful spinning backfist, before rising to his feet to close the show himself.
The victory only enhanced the sensational legacy Verhoeven has put together, with the warrior still determined to improve with every camp.
For years, in a bid to enhance his traditional boxing skills, the Dutchman trained with Tyson Fury, soaking up invaluable information during sparring sessions with ‘The Gypsy King’, under the watchful eye of Peter Fury.

And when the former WBC heavyweight title-holder left his uncle, Verhoeven continued to travel to Bolton, UK, to work with the esteemed coach, constantly adding new tools to his already tremendous arsenal.
In an exclusive interview with Bloody Knockout, he said: “The last time I sparred with Tyson is such a long time ago, close to a decade ago. But with Peter Fury, we’ve been putting in the work every camp.
“I do lots of sparring with Hughie Fury. So, they’ve really elevated my boxing into my kickboxing game. What they’ve implemented into me, I’m eternally thankful for. I think that’s why we’re so far ahead of all the rest.”
