Chris Eubank is one of boxing’s best-known faces and for his charismatic personality in and out of the ring.
A middleweight and super middleweight world champion, Eubank Snr eventually saw his children follow in his footsteps and now Chris Eubank Jr is at the top of his game himself.
Eubank Jr recently agreed to fight Conor Benn which will finally see the family feud come to an end almost 35 years after their two fathers’ met.
Nigel Benn will almost certainly be there to support Conor, but it will most likely be a different story for the Eubank family, who have had a fractured relationship to say the least.

Chris Eubank explains why he has broken relationship with son
Between 2011 – when Chris Eubank Jr made his professional debut – and 2018, Eubank Snr trained and led his son from his corner but ever since 2019, hasn’t been there.
Frustrations first came about when Eubank Snr pleaded with his son not to take the initial Benn fight in 2022 before it fell through after his opponent failed two drugs tests.
Roy Jones Jr took on the role as coach with David Haye in the background. This left a sour taste in the mouth of the former middleweight star, who claimed back in 2023 that his son “never listens” and is surrounded by “yes men”.
Back in 2023, he told TalkSPORT: “He does everything that he wants to do, he’s got yes men around him. And so it seems to me, by what David Haye tells me, that he’s still not listening.
“If you won’t listen, then life will teach you what it taught many of the other fighters. It is arrogance when you shut your ears, and what arrogance gets you is what it got him in his last fight.”
Chris Eubank Jr admits he doesn’t speak to his father
Every story has two sides but it seems that the strained relationship in the Eubank family is something that Snr and Jr can both agree on.
35-year-old Eubank Jnr now has all eyes set on an April date with Conor Benn, a fight that has been two years in the making.
He wants his dad to be there by his side but he admitted that the relationship between the two is “not cool” and that they aren’t on speaking terms.
“I would love for him to be involved. The fact that I even have to say that is insane. How is that even a thing?” he said to Uncrowded in October 2024.
“His son is gonna fight the son of his arch-nemesis, [from] all those years ago when he was a world champion… How is it a thing that he may not be there? But it’s a thing. We don’t talk, he has shown no interest in my career for a long period of time now. He’s shown no interest in me in a long period of time.
“He’s gone through a lot over the last few years, and he’s still dealing with his demons. He thinks certain things aren’t right and should be a certain way and they’re not – and he’s not happy with it, and this is how he’s dealing with it: by not being in my life.”
Right now, it seems unlikely that the two will rekindle their relationship anytime soon, but, maybe in the future the family can finally settle their differences.
