One of the greatest fighters to ever live, Roy Jones Jr., had some incredible moments inside of the ring.
The former unified world champion has had an exceptional career that has seen him claim titles in four weight divisions as he was one of the greatest light heavyweights of all time.
Finishing his career with a record of 66-10, Jones Jr. had a lengthy career that entertained the masses. This even included Jones Jr. having an exhibition boxing fight with Mike Tyson in 2020.
However, one of the finest moments of his career came with a crushing body-shot knockout.

Roy Jones Jr. dispatched Virgil Hill with a brutal body shot
In April 1998, Jones Jr. would take on Virgil Hill (43-2). The pair would meet in Mississippi as Hill was coming off of a world title loss to Driusz Michalczewski.
The pair competed in a light heavyweight non-title bout, as Jones Jr. was looking to improve his record to 36-1. Thanks to an impressive performance, he was able to do so.
After having a controlling opening three rounds, Jones Jr. would find the mark in the fourth round.
Throwing a jab, a following right hand to the body of Hill would send him crashing to the canvas. Visibly in a significant amount of pain, his attempt to beat the count was not successful.
The incredible punch was named The Ring Magazine’s ‘Knockout of the Year’ for 1998.

Roy Jones Jr. won Ring Magazine’s ‘Fighter of the Year’ in 1994
The ‘Knockout of the Year’ award is not the only time Jones Jr. has received recognition from The Ring Magazine. In 1994, he was accredited with their ‘Fighter of the Year’ award.
Starting his year off in March, Jones Jr. would earn a sixth-round knockout over Danny Garcia.
Then, in May, Jones Jr. would successfully retain his IBF World Middleweight title. Defeating Thomas Tate (29-2) via second-round TKO, it was the American’s first defense of the belt.
His final outing of the year would come in November, as Jones Jr. defeated boxing legend James Toney (44-0-2). Defeating the undefeated fighter via unanimous decision, Jones Jr. became the IBF World Super Middleweight champion.
