Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois 1 saw boxing legend’s son KO embarrassingly bad opponent

Oleksandr Usyk will face Daniel Dubois for the second time on July 19th in Wembley Stadium.

Oleksandr Usyk may become a three-time undisputed champion if he beats Daniel Dubois next month.

In their first fight, Usyk, who recently shared some poetry, beat Dubois via ninth-round TKO after a low-blow controversy.

On the undercard, the son of a legend made his long-awaited pro debut, but his opponent was not nearly on his level.

Prince Naseem Hamed’s son debuted against woeful opponent on Usyk vs Dubois card

In one of the opening bouts of the night, Aadam Hamed made his debut against 1-2 Vojtech Hrdy in a scheduled four-round fight.

Hamed teased the crowd by appearing as though he were going to jump the ropes like his father had done in his prime, but entered the ropes as most fighters do instead, saving the family trademark for a later date.

He dispatched Hrdy two minutes into the first round, after it became clear to everyone, including Hamed, that Hrdy was not anywhere close to the caliber of Hamed, or to that of a pro boxer.

One commentator said: “It’s like hitting a punch bag really.”

Hamed has fought four times since, and is 5-0.

Prince Naseem’s other son took a different route into boxing

Prince Naseem, who dropped a foe in 36 seconds, has two boxing sons – Aadam and Sami.

Whilst Aadam followed in his father’s footsteps in a bid to make a name for himself in the pro game, Sami went a different way entirely.

Sami has had two fights now under the Misfits banner, winning both exhibitions via stoppage. Sami floored Zach Johnson three times in one round in one of his fights.

His father, Prince Naseem, retired in 2002 with a record of 36-1. Naseem lost only to Marco Antonio Barrera.
