Mike Tyson tried to bite nipple of opponent off in final professional fight

Mike Tyson’s last professional fight caused quite the stir for opponent Kevin McBride.

Mike Tyson is considered to be one the best heavyweight boxers of all time and became adored by fans across for the globe for his aggressive style in the ring.

The American finished his professional career in 2005 against Irish journeyman McBride in Washington as he called time on his days in the ring.

All in all the fight was a cagey affair but with Tyson ready to hang up the gloves, McBride knew he had a great chance.

Kevin McBride reveals Mike Tyson’s ‘crazy’ moment during fight

One of Tyson’s best attributes was of course, the power of his punches.

Although McBride was technically crowned the victory after the then-38-year-old decided to withdraw from the bout, despite the judges’ scorecards having him leading after the first six rounds, the Irishman still suffered.

Recalling the famous night that occurred 19 years ago, McBride even revealed some of Tyson’s tactics that could’ve seen the American disqualified.

He told TalkSport: “When Tyson hit me I swear I saw Leprechaun’s playing drums in my head, so I got hold of him in a headlock and whispered to him, ‘Is that all you got?’ and he went crazy.

“He bit my nipple so hard, it was the most excruciating pain that I ever felt in my life, as he pulled away his mouthpiece fell out and thought, ‘Thank god he had his mouthpiece in.’

“If he didn’t have that mouthpiece in, I’d be forever known as the Irish heavyweight with one nipple.”

Mike Tyson has had previous history when it comes to biting

Whilst footage of the bite itself has never surfaced online, it’s not the first time that biting allegations have been made about Tyson.

His most famous incident of course was during his grudge match against Evander Hoyfield in which he took a chunk out of his opponent’s ear.

As a result, Tyson’s boxing license was revoked, and he was also handed a hefty financial punishment.

‘Iron Mike’ was set to make his return to boxing earlier this year against Jake Paul but was forced to pull out due to a medical issue.

They’ve set a rescheduled date for Friday, November 15, at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas and will stream the fight live on Netflix.
