Manny Pacquiao is set to return to the ring with a record of 62-8-2 against Mario Barrios, but his first loss was almost 30 years ago.
Manny Pacquiao has shared the ring with some greats. Still, long before his losses to Floyd Mayweather, Juan Manuel Marquez, and Tim Bradley, Pacquiao took his first-ever loss at the hands of a relatively unknown Filipino fighter.
The loss happened in 1996, but was highly controversial due to the shot that put Pacquiao down being highly questionable.

Manny Pacquiao was stopped when his opponent hit him with his shoulder and a low blow at the same time
Pacquiao faced Rustico Torrecampo in 1996, but, after turning up one pound over the weight limit, was given eight-ounce gloves, whilst Torrecampo wore six-ounce gloves.
This was not the only advantage given to Torrecampo, as in the third round, Torrecampo knocked out Pacquiao using his shoulder.

Replays of the shot show Torrecampo also struck Pacquiao with a borderline low-blow at the same time, leaving him unable to beat the count.
Pacquiao only lost twice more in the next ten years.
Manny Pacquiao will return at the age of 46
Pacquiao has declared he is returning to boxing at the age of 46 against world champion Mario Barrios.
Barrios beat Yordenis Ugas to win the world title, with Ugas having beaten Pacquiao in his first attempt at a comeback back in 2021.

Barrios has only lost to Keith Thurman, who Pacquiao beat, and Gervonta Davis.
Pacquiao’s training footage has received a mixed reaction, though it remains to be seen how much he has left.
Terence Crawford believes Barrios vs Pacquiao is 50/50.
