Following his win over Conor Benn, Lennox Lewis has shared footage of him speaking to a young Chris Eubank Jr. about boxing.
Chris Eubank Jr. had what will surely be considered his greatest night in boxing, not just for the opponent who gave it his all, but for the reunion with his father, for the ring walk in front of 65,000 fans, and for the continuation of his family legacy.
Eubank Jr.’s boxing career has seen ups and downs, though it very nearly didn’t happen at all, at least until one heavyweight legend got involved.

Chris Eubank didn’t want his son to box, but Lennox Lewis disagreed
In a clip shared by Lennox Lewis on X, the heavyweight legend can be seen chatting with Chris Eubank Sr. about his son boxing.
Sr. had said of his son’s ambitions: “Boxing is a business that.. you never see middle class or upper class youngsters become champions, because you need to be hungry.”
Eubank Jr. retorted: “I just want to try it, I just want to see what it’s about. If my dad can do it why can’t I?”
Eubank and his partner argued over Eubank Jr., who could face Canelo next, being allowed to box, with Eubank suggesting his son would lose his good looks if he took up the sport.
Lewis, who suffered a KO loss to Hasim Rahman, stepped in here, stating: “Am I bad looking?” before asking Sr.: “Why you putting that into the kid’s head?”
Lewis concluded: “I would never want, when I have kids, for my son or daughter to be in a car crash so what do I do? I say I’m not buying you a car and you can’t drive. Is that the right thing to do?”
Eubank later allowed his son to box and the rest is history.
Chris Eubank Jr. walked out to his father’s iconic song in biggest night of his career
Following his thrilling reunion with his father, Eubank Jr. continued his legacy not only by winning his fight, nor by wearing the same colors his dad wore when he defeated Nigel Benn.
Eubank Jr. walked out to the song that gave Eubank Sr., who was retired by Carl Thompson, his iconic nickname, the song that he had walked out to countless times in his career.
He walked out to Tina Turner’s ‘Simply The Best’ beside his father in front of 65,000 fans on a night that won’t be forgotten any time soon.
