Katie Taylor is considered by a lot of boxing fans to be the greatest women’s fighter of all time, as she has beaten every opponent she has faced.
Although Taylor lost a homecoming fight to Chantelle Cameron in 2023, she was able to avenge that loss six months later.
Following the loss to her British rival, Taylor scored a second victory over Amanda Serrano in November 2024. Taylor’s first win against Serrano came in 2022.
Despite being 2-0 against the Puerto Rican, Taylor and Serrano will meet for a third time on July 19th.
With two decision victories over Serrano, Taylor may look to add a stoppage win to her fight series. Should Taylor stop Serrano, it would be her first finish since 2019.

Katie Taylor stopped Rose Volante in 2019 unification bout
In March 2019, Taylor would look to unify the lightweight division against Rose Volante of Brazil.
Meeting in Philadelphia, Taylor’s WBA and IBF titles were on the line, while Volante was the WBO lightweight champion.
From the opening round of the bout, it did not appear as if 36-year-old Volante would cause Taylor many problems, despite her 14-0 record.
Less than a minute into the opening round, a combination of a straight right hand followed by a check hook would put Volante down. Recovering from the blow, the Brazilian beat the count and continued to fight.
Volante would not have much success in the bout despite her recovery. Seemingly a step behind when facing Taylor, Volante would find herself on the receiving end of countless punches.
The referee would wave off the bout in the ninth round due to the damage that Volante was accumulating. The win extended Taylor’s record to 13-0, as she claimed another lightweight belt.
Katie Taylor would become an undisputed champion in 2019
Eager to become an undisputed champion at light, Taylor would turn around in just three months to face Delfine Persoon.
As the holder of the WBC World Lightweight title, a win over Persoon would make Taylor the undisputed champion at 135 lbs. However, it would not be plain sailing for Taylor.
Despite Taylor barely dropping any rounds to her opponents in recent fights, Persoon would score four out of 10 on two judges’ scorecards, with the third judge scoring the bout a draw.
Winning by slim margins, Taylor was able to do enough to get past Persoon to become undisputed lightweight champion.
