Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. suffered disappointing premature loss in his first fight since quitting in his corner

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will face Jake Paul next at the end of the month in what will be his 61st fight.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has just one win on his record from the last four years, when he defeated 1-0 Uriah Hall in 2024.

Chavez is 3-3 in his last six fights, and embarrassingly lost to Anderson Silva in his last career defeat in 2021.

There was one other man who beat Chavez, in what was supposed to be a comeback victory for the son of a legend.

In 2019, the year Chavez first met Jake Paul, the Mexican faced Daniel Jacobs, Gennadiy Golovkin’s toughest test.

Jacobs brutally beat Chavez Jr., who quit after five rounds as his dad had done against Grover Wiley in the same venue.

In his comeback fight, 51-4-1 Chavez fought 11-0 Mario Cazares, but an accidental headbutt forced the fight to go to the scorecards after six rounds.

All three judges had Cazares up at the time of the stoppage, handing Chavez his fifth defeat.

Chavez had one win after that fight before losing to 1-1 Silva.

Julio Cesar Chavez didn’t win a single round against Canelo

In 2017, before his losses to Jacobs and Cazares, Chavez faced Canelo Alvarez.

The pair were closely matched in terms of records, with Canelo sporting a 48-1-1 record and Chavez a 50-2-1 record.

Despite this, the fight was anything but close, and Canelo was levels above Chavez Jr., outboxing him for every single round and winning a shutout decision with all three judges scoring it 120-108.
