Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has just two stoppage losses in his 61-fight career, having quit in his corner both times.
Julio Cesar Chavez has lost six fights, including a unanimous decision loss to Canelo Alvarez, but has suffered only two stoppage losses, neither of which came truly by knockout.
Arguably worse than being knocked out, Chavez Jr. quit on his stool against these two men, one of whom was former WBA world champion Daniel Jacobs, a man who gave Gennady Golovkin his toughest test, but the other was a lesser-known Polish fighter, who stopped the Mexican for the first time.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. quit in lopsided bout with Andrzej Fonfara
In 2015, having lost his world title three fights ago against Sergio Martinez, Chavez Jr. faced 26-3 Andrzej Fonfara.
Fonfara, who had won the IBO world title against Tommy Karpency in 2012, had faced few names of note, though lost to Adonis Stevenson by unanimous decision a year before facing Chavez.

Chavez vs Fonfara defied expectations, as the Mexican son of a legend, lost almost every single round to Fonfara going into the ninth.
In that round, Chavez was dropped, and the writing was on the wall that a stoppage was coming.
Chavez, who will face Jake Paul next, failed to dig deep and hope for the knockout, instead quitting in his corner after the ninth round.
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. defeated the coach of one of boxing’s best active heavyweights
Before his loss to Martinez, Chavez Jr. faced and defeated one of boxing’s best coaches around at the moment.
In 2012, he faced 28-1 Andy Lee, who went on to win a world title after their fight against Matvey Korobov, who defeated Usyk in the amateurs.

Chavez became the second man to stop Lee, knocking him out in the seventh round.
Nowadays, Lee trains some of boxing’s best, including Joseph Parker, Paddy Donovan, Hamzah Sheeraz, and Ben Whittaker.
