Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. fought on Jake Paul undercard to set up fight with ‘The Problem Child’

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will aim to disrupt the winning streak of Internet star Jake Paul when he faces ‘The Problem Child’ on June 28th.

Going into the bout with a professional record of 54-6-1, Chavez Jr. will be the most experienced boxer Paul has faced in terms of number of fights.

As the son of one of the greatest Mexican boxers of all time, and a former world champion, Chavez Jr. has a significant pedigree as a fighter. However, Paul is still predicting a victory in California.

In Chavez Jr.’s last outing, he competed on the same card as Paul against an unlikely opponent.

In July 2024, Paul would face Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship star Mike Perry in a boxing event headliner.

Also featured on the card was Chavez Jr., who faced Perry’s fellow former UFC competitor Uriah Hall. The fighter had an MMA record of 17-11 going into the bout, as well as a singular boxing win.

Competing in a cruiserweight bout, it would be the more experienced boxer who got the victory. In what could be considered a close meeting, the Mexican won the bout via unanimous decision after six rounds.

The professional bout improved Chavez Jr.’s record to 54-6-1, in what is his most recent fight ahead of his meeting with Paul.

Amanda Serrano also featured on the card in Florida. Fighting in a non-title bout, she earned a second-round TKO over Stevie Morgan.

As Paul headlined the event, he was able to join both Chavez Jr. and Serrano in the win column.

Perry went into the bout with an 0-1 boxing record, a 6-0 bare knuckle boxing record, and a 14-8 MMA record. However, despite his impressive form in BKFC, Perry was easily bested by Paul.

Being knocked down in the first, second, and sixth rounds, it was a tough night for Perry.

Winning the bout via TKO, Paul improved his professional record to 10-1. Following the victory, Paul went on to have his huge bout with Mike Tyson.
