Jake Paul remains a controversial figure in boxing and is set to fight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in one of his biggest fights yet.
Jake Paul hopes to improve his record to 12-1 at the end of the month, as he takes on 54-6-1 Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in Anaheim.
Chavez Jr. is 39 years old and has fought just once since 2021, winning a unanimous decision six-rounder against 1-0 Uriah Hall, leading many to question how valid he is as an opponent for the 28-year-old Paul.
Paul has long been criticized for his selection of opponents, and, perhaps owing more to their ability, or lack thereof, in the sport than his, has retired all but three of the men he’s shared the ring with.
Here are the three men Jake Paul has not retired:

Ali Loui Al-Fakhri (AnEsonGib)
Jake Paul’s first professional opponent, Ali Al-Fakhri, better known by his YouTube persona, AnEsonGib, has fought multiple times since losing to Paul.
The pair fought in 2020, with Paul winning in the first round.
Gib has since fought five more times, with two of those fights being staged as pro fights. In 2022 Gib stopped Austin McBroom, and in 2024 he outpointed Slim Albaher.

Tommy Fury
The only man to beat Paul so far, Fury has fought twice since their encounter in 2023.
Fury defeated Paul by split decision, despite many viewers believing it was a clear win for the Brit. Paul did, however, have a moment of success as he dropped Fury for the first and only time in his career.
Fury defeated KSI by unanimous decision later that year, and returned to the ring just last month after over a year out of boxing.
Fury defeated 5-1 Kenan Hanjalic in Budapest.

Nate Diaz
After his loss to Fury, Paul, who Roy Jones Jr. thinks could become world champion, faced MMA fighter Nate Diaz in Dallas in 2023.
Though many expected Paul to finish the weathered debutant, Diaz was a slippery and tough opponent, and made it to the final bell, losing a unanimous decision to Paul.
Diaz has fought only once since losing to Paul, when he faced Jorge Masvidal, another MMA fighter, almost a year after his fight with Paul.
Diaz defeated Masvidal by controversial majority decision.
Paul returns on June 28th, though Tony Bellew has scolded Paul for picking Chavez as an opponent.
