The former cruiserweight champion who KO’d Roy Jones Jr. took to social media to share his son’s skills.
Roy Jones Jr. is considered by many to be one of the greatest boxers of all time, and campaigned from middleweight all the way up to heavyweight throughout his career.
Jones retired with a record of 66-10 but was only beaten by eight men. The final loss of his career, five years before his unsuccessful comeback, came at the hands of Enzo Maccarinelli.

Enzo Maccarinelli impresses fans as his son follows in his footsteps
Maccarinelli himself retired with a record of 41-8, with his win over Jones Jr., who beat up a police officer in the ring, being the last of his career.
Maccarinelli held the WBO cruiserweight title until it was taken by David Haye, who beat Deontay Wilder in an infamous spar.
The Welsh fighter has kept up his fitness since retiring, and has recently shared footage of his son following in his footsteps.
He shared footage of his son doing pads with him, a video which was met with great reaction from fans:
“Can’t fault the kid, dedication and hard graft will get you everywhere in life”
“Buzzing. Champion in the making with an old man like you Enzo.”
“Excellent stuff. Hopefully a future Champ. Best of luck to him.”
Fans were impressed with Maccarinelli’s son, similar to how many were impressed with Arturo Gatti’s son, who Mike Tyson coached, though the fans were not so impressed with Mike Tyson’s son on the pads.
Roy Jones Jr. knew Enzo Maccarinelli was his ‘toughest test’ ahead of fight
In an interview with BoxNation, Jones Jr., who fought a fan for 100K once, spoke in the build-up to the fight with Maccarinelli:
“I know enough about him to know he’s a very dangerous fighter […] very powerful guy.”
Jones, who was 46 years old when he fought Maccarinelli, said: “Enzo Maccarinelli is my toughest test in years” ahead of their fight.
Unfortunately for him, the clash did not go his way, and Maccarinelli stopped Jones in the fourth round.
