Shane Mosley discusses ‘scary’ Adrian Stone knockout

On July 21, 2001, Shane Mosley put his WBC welterweight title on the line against Adrian Stone inside Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

After a dominant start against the Englishman, the all-time great closed the show. In a thrilling third round, Mosley rendered Stone unconscious with a thunderous punch.

While over two decades have passed since that night, Mosley can still remember how big a shot that was.

In an exclusive interview with Bloody Knockout, he said: “The right hand, I hit him, and then he fell and hit his head on the canvas — it was scary.

“Stone was a good fighter, but I punch pretty hard. Sometimes, the lights just go out.”
