Tom Aspinall has sent a message of support to Tyson Fury, claiming he’d love to see ‘The Gypsy King’ get his shot at redemption against Oleksandr Usyk.
The pair of sporting titans squared off in an incredible boxing match on May 18, with the Ukrainian utilizing his slick footwork and fighting IQ to come out the victor.

Tom Aspinall wants to see Tyson Fury fight Oleksandr Usyk again
On a night that settled who the best heavyweight on the planet is once and for all, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, squared off in a battle for the ages.
The incredible fight pitted two of the greatest boxing minds in the history of the division against one another, with the pair of intelligent warriors putting into practice all their years of top-level experience in an attempt to solve the problem in front of them.
In a bout that ebbed and flowed, both men had huge spells of success. While Usyk started well, Fury quickly worked his way back into the contest, rocking his rival with a thunderous uppercut.
However, rather than succumbing to the Englishman’s spell, the former cruiserweight King overcame the adversity, producing a mesmeric spell of boxing greatness, landing an array of stunning shots and even wobbling the 6ft9 giant, en route to becoming an undisputed champion in a second weight category.
Unsurprisingly, Fury hasn’t taken the loss particularly well, claiming he ought to have gotten the decision. In a bid to get the result he believes he deserves, the 35-year-old has headed back to the gym, where he’s been working on his craft ahead of a potential second showdown.
Following their first encounter, the Brit executed his rematch clause, putting the wheels in motion for another blockbuster bout. However, while the fight will reportedly take place in December, it’s yet to be officially confirmed.
And one man waiting for the date to be announced is none other than UFC interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall.
The MMA star, who’s trained with Fury extensively, isn’t entirely sure how his old sparring partner can change the result, but definitely wants to see him get the chance to try.
In an exclusive interview with Bloody Knockout, he said: “At this point, he’s probably close to the end of his career. Usyk is just very good. Tyson is obviously very good, too. I think it was a good fight, and I want to see it again. I don’t know what Tyson should do about it, I’m not a boxer, but I definitely want to see it again.”
Aspinall will return to action at UFC 304 on Saturday evening, against Curtis Blaydes, where he’ll aim to exhibit some of the tricks he learned from training with the former heavyweight boxing title-holder.
Tom Aspinall based his boxing game on Tyson Fury
Throughout his career, the UFC phenom has developed a reputation for his graceful footwork and fantastic head movement.
His dynamic style has set him apart from the rest of his division, allowing him to dazzle his opponents before rendering them unconscious in the cage.
Ultimately, the skills that have led him to the pinnacle of the mountain were honed training at the Fury Gym in Bolton, where he soaked up all the valuable advice the boxing icon and his uncle Peter Fury gave him.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star Sport, he said: “I’ve worked with a lot of coaches and sparring partners over the years, and I try and learn something from everybody.
“However, Peter Fury taught me a lot. I think the guy is an unsung hero of boxing. He doesn’t go out there, do a million interviews, and big himself up. But Peter Fury is one of the best coaches ever, from my experience at least. I think he’s brilliant. And he really understands the mentality as well as the techniques of the fighters.
“He was always telling me, ‘Be on the move, use your fakes and keep them guessing’. That’s something that has stuck with me in MMA. I try and confuse my opponents constantly, and that’s definitely something that’s come from Peter Fury and the Fury family.”
