Dillian Whyte used to struggle against a legend in sparring, according to a former WBA super middleweight champion, who’s opened up about their rounds inside the gym.
In his esteemed career, ‘The Body Snatcher’ has cemented his status as one of the most resilient fighters in boxing.

But apparently, in the early portion of his career, he wasn’t yet equipped to deal with the best fighters on the planet.

George Groves says he dominated Dillian Whyte in sparring
George Groves has claimed that he used to get the better of Dillian Whyte during their sessions.
While the future heavyweight world title challenger would’ve potentially just been too big if he really punched ‘St George’ as hard as he could, when it came down to sparring, the ex-super middleweight claims he could utilize his superior speed to get the edge.
During an interview on Tris Dixon’s Boxing Life Stories, the Brit explained: “I used to love sparring David Haye’s sparring partners, so when I first turned over, I used to bring guys over and I used to have them in the gym, but they were always too big and too slow.
“So, I used to bash lumps out of them, Dillian Whyte included, I used to bash Dillian Whyte up as well, he’d probably bash me up now, he’s a bit better than he used to be.”
