In the eighth round, and with the scorecards squarely in his favor, Mayweather suffered from a brief bout of boredom inside the ring. After overhearing the boxing commentators speaking about the upcoming AFC and NFC Championship Game matchups, Mayweather decided to make a few recommended picks.
Mayweather was heard on the broadcast telling the crew “I like the Patriots! I like Michael Vick [and the Falcons]” as he prepared to start the round. Not long after his proclamation, Mayweather finished the fight with a tactical combo, led by some stinging body shots.
