Hughie Fury defeated a legendary former heavyweight world champion in a fight with a really strange ending

Hughie Fury dominated one of the hardest punchers in heavyweight history.

While the Brit has struggled to overcome the best fighters in the division, he has got one massive name on his record.

Despite this former world champion not being anywhere near his best, he still served as a great scalp for Fury to claim.

However, the contest didn’t end the way either of them would have wanted.

Samuel Peter suffered an injury during his fight with Hughie Fury

On July 12, 2019, Hughie Fury went head-to-head with former WBC heavyweight world champion, Samuel Peter, inside the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

At the peak of his powers, ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ was a truly terrifying individual. In addition to dropping Wladimir Klitschko, the icon received massive praise from James Toney, who said Peter was one of the biggest punchers he ever faced.

Alas, at the age of 38, he was far from the phenom who once ruled the sport’s heaviest weight class.

Fury was in control for the entire contest, utilizing his sublime movement to leave Peter chasing shadows.

By the seventh round, the Englishman was cruising, with hopes of finding a big finish.

However, things went horribly wrong, with the all-time great sustaining a nasty injury.

In a freak incident, Peter threw a punch while the referee was trying to separate a clinch. Somehow, during this exchange, the fighter managed to damage his shoulder, resulting in the end of the contest.

Eddie Chambers opens up about what he’d have done differently in his epic win over Samuel Peter

While Peter was past his sparkling prime by the time he fought ‘Fists of Fury’, the warrior still had a lot left in the tank the night he took on Eddie Chambers.

The pair of gifted athletes went toe-to-toe in an enthralling contest, in which the American came out on top.

However, while ‘Fast’ emerged victorious, there was still an element of his performance that he wasn’t pleased with.

In an exclusive interview with Bloody Knockout, Chambers opened up about what he should’ve done differently against Peter.
