Jason Moloney believes a victory over Tenshin Nasukawa will earn him another world title shot

Throughout his time in boxing, Jason Moloney has proven his fighting heart beyond doubt, exhibiting a willingness to set foot in the ring with absolutely anybody, and the ability to bite down on his gumshield when it gets tough.

Because of that, the warrior is excited to take Tenshin Nasukawa out into deep waters in an attempt to drown him under an unrelenting wave of pressure.

In an exclusive interview with Bloody Knockout, Moloney explained: “I think he’s a good fighter. There’s obviously a lot of hype surrounding him due to his popularity and success as a former kickboxing world champion.

“You can certainly see that there’s a lot of potential there. He’s got very fast hands, and he’s a good athlete, and he’s got a good eye. He pulls off some good counter-shots, and he’s a talented fighter.

“He’s only had the five fights as a professional, so, they’re throwing him in the deep end early against myself, a former world champion. It’s a big step up for any fighter who’s only had five fights.

“It’s my job here to make sure he comes unstuck. I respect them for throwing him in the deep end. It’s something they do in Japan. They really test their guys. There are no padded records or easy ways to the top in Japan. They put them in tough fights early.

“I can only respect him for taking on the challenge, but I’m excited for it. I’m obviously coming off a loss. I’ve been working hard to improve and get better and become a world champion again. So, this fight is important for me.

“Beating a guy like Tenshin is going to open some big doors; he’s rated as high as number two in the WBA and three in the WBC, so a win should set me up for another title shot. But, the full focus is on beating Tenshin and reigniting my career, and getting myself back to the top and where I wanna be.”
