How Big Mo went from Denver car parks to announcing Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano 3 at Madison Square Garden

Big Mo will achieve his dream of announcing at Madison Square Garden.

On Friday evening, the master of ceremonies will stand in the center of the ring in the most famous venue on Earth and introduce Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano ahead of their trilogy bout.

Having grown up watching boxing, the American fell in love with the sport, eventually realizing he had the voice to get crowds hyped ahead of major events.

Big Mo took inspiration from Michael Buffer and Bruce Buffer’s deliveries, all while carving out his own unique style, which has propelled him into the mix with the best announcers in the business.

Big Mo has gone on an incredible journey to announcing Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano 3

Determined to reach the top, Big Mo did everything in his power to stand out from the crowd, announcing in Denver car parks while wearing sunglasses.

Eventually, BOXXER picked up on his talent, which ultimately sent the Californian on the road to Madison Square Garden.

In an exclusive interview with Bloody Knockout, he said: “It’s surreal to even think it’s going to happen because I’ve affirmed it and visualized it in my mind. When I was on the regional scene in Denver, I didn’t think I was there; I was imagining that I was in Madison Square Garden.

“I had promoters, not Sparta, but other various promoters that I worked for independently in the beginning, basically try and tear me down and say, ‘I don’t know where you think you are, why are you dressed up so much’?

“I had to tell them, ‘It’s because I’m not here, I believe I can take this a lot further than this wreck center or gymnasium’.

“So, the fact that it’s going to be happening is insane to think about. Obviously, I got to introduce Katie and Amanda on the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson undercard. It was a great fight, women’s records were broken.

“They’re incredible, and they’re getting paid handsomely for this fight, which they absolutely both deserve.

“The fact that I get to be there and get to announce in Madison Square Garden, the mecca, is something I’m never going to forget.

“You pile on the fact that it’s on Netflix, and it’s an all-women’s card. Women’s boxing has been so prevalent in my career. The first big show I ever did was Claressa Shields vs Savannah Marshall, which was an all-women’s card.

“Then, earlier this year, I got to announce at the Royal Albert Hall for an all-women’s card with Lauren Price vs Natasha Jonas.

“So, women’s boxing has always been a pivotal part of my career, and so the fact that I get to reach almost the pinnacle of venues and announcing with women’s boxing is a blessing. It all fits.”

How meeting a screenwriter from a Margot Robbie movie landed Big Mo a role in a Mike Tyson biopic

In addition to announcing, Big Mo has explored the acting world.

During a trip to Los Angeles, the 29-year-old met a screenwriter from a massive Margot Robbie movie.

Incredibly, this chance encounter resulted in Big Mo securing a role in a Mike Tyson biopic.
