In a video with Sports Illustrated, Tyson answered the question: “Current boxers that catch your attention?”
Tyson said: “You got Benavidez, he’s got a lot of potential. He’s the man, he’s somebody to be looking for. Nobody should overlook that guy at all.”
He continued: “He’s very dangerous”.
Benavidez is coming off a unanimous decision win over David Morrell, who was the first and only man to knock Benavidez down in the penultimate round of their contest.
‘The Mexican Monster’ has a perfect 30-0 record, and has gone the distance only six times, though one of those was in a six-rounder.

In the same video, Tyson also reveals another fighter he’s watching closely, another aggressive fighter – Gervonta Davis.
Tyson said: “We also got to look at Tank, Tank is very exciting.”
However, he commented on the controversy of Tank’s recent fight with Lamont Roach Jr., and said the knockdown should have been called: “The point should’ve been taken away. Regardless about what’s in his eye [Davis] did the knee, took the knee.”
Roach claims Davis tried to bite him in their fight too, and it seems a rematch is destined next for both of them.
