“He definitely scared”… Fans demand Shakur Stevenson face lightweight boogeyman after huge KO win

Shakur Stevenson recently gained his second stoppage win in four years, but fans believe he may be on the other side of a knockout if he faces this rising prospect.

Shakur Stevenson scored his second knockout in six fights when he faced late replacement Josh Padley, an electrician-turned-boxer on the Bivol vs Beterbiev 2 undercard.

Stevenson’s record improved to 23-0, and he is currently looking for his next opponent.

With Stevenson’s preferred opponent, Gervonta Davis, wanting to settle the score after fighting to a draw with Lamont Roach Jr., who claims Tank tried to bite him, it seems a lightweight mega-fight between the pair won’t happen just yet.

Instead, some fans now point to a Cuban knockout artist, who recently added a 15th KO to his 17-0 record.

“That was vicious”… Fans react to brutal KO from undefeated Cuban Jadier Herrera

17-0 Jadier Herrera has been on the minds of fans for a while now, and many would love to see the Cuban enter the ring with Stevenson next.

Footage recently resurfaced of one of Herrera’s most brutal knockouts, leaving fans in heated debate over whether he would have success against the champion or not.

Writing on Herrera, one fan said: “This dude coming for everybody”

Another believed Stevenson wants no part of Herrera: “Watch shakur say…send the contact knowing damn well he ain’t gone fight him”

Others, however, maintained that Stevenson has all the tools to beat Herrera: “Jadier has yet to fight someone in the top 50 of the weight class”

Perhaps the most realistic response: “When that guy starts beating fighters who are ranked and earning his shot then let’s have the conversation.”

“Don’t run, I’m coming for you”… Jadier Herrera sends ominous warning to Shakur Stevenson

In an interview with Boxing News, Herrera issued a message to Stevenson:

“Shakur, don’t run anymore bro. Don’t run, I’m coming for you, okay?”

Herrera expressed that he would’ve liked to have been Stevenson’s opponent after Floyd Schofield withdrew, instead of Padley:

“I felt it was a good opportunity for me.”

The 22-year-old is coming off a TKO win over 21-3-2 Jose Enriquez and is trained by Joe McNally, who has trained the likes of Josh Taylor, who Harlem Eubank wants to fight next, and Liam Smith, who returns to the ring against Aaron McKenna after his defeat to Chris Eubank Jr.
