Hamzah Sheeraz gives his verdict on whether he will fight Terence Crawford

Blessed with thunderous power and a sublime boxing brain, Hamzah Sheeraz is quickly cementing his place as one of the most exciting prospects in the sport.

Therefore, it comes as no major surprise that he’s earned a spot as the co-main event on the Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois undercard.

Having promoted some of the best fighters the UK has ever produced, Frank Warren knows a thing or two about spotting talent.

And when he first laid eyes on a 17-year-old Sheeraz, he knew he was destined for big things.

These match-ups would be amazing: Five potential fights for Terence Crawford

Unsurprisingly, the Hall of Famer’s assumptions were proved correct, as eight years on, the Londoner has scored a whopping 16 knockouts in just 20 fights.

Warren believes in Sheeraz to such an extent that he picked the 6ft3 boxer to represent him in the Queensberry vs Matchroom, 5 vs 5.

The fighter delivered, producing a fantastic performance against Ammo Williams. And now, Warren is keen to push the boundaries even further by setting up a clash between his man and Terence Crawford.

Ultimately, while Sheeraz isn’t convinced he’ll ever set foot in the ring with the legend, he’s delighted that he’s made enough waves to be mentioned in the same breath as one of the most gifted competitors the sport has ever seen.

In an exclusive interview with Bloody Knockout, he said: “I don’t think it’s going to happen. It’s one of those fantasy fights. But at the same time, it’s nice to be recognised in the same sentence as such a great fighter like him.

“What I took from that whole situation was it’s nice to be mentioned in the same name but also have these fighters you ought to be like and unify divisions like notice you. I’m definitely heading in the right direction.”

Hamzah Sheeraz slams Chris Eubank Jr

Crawford isn’t the only big name the 25-year-old is linked with.

While he’s ready for his clash with Denny, Sheeraz initially hoped he’d have the opportunity to share the ring with Chris Eubank Jr.

The pair were reportedly negotiating a deal that fell by the wayside. There were rumors that the son of a legend was working on a fight with Canelo Alvarez, but he’s now gone in a different direction, taking on Kamil Szeremeta on the Dmitry Bivol vs Artur Beterbiev undercard.

The situation has rendered Sheeraz furious, with the Brit taking aim at his rival in a scathing rant.
