George Kambosos Jr. is set to face Daud Yordan in his comeback fight following a stoppage loss to Vasyl Lomachenko.
George Kambosos Jr. will headline once again in Australia against 43-4 Daud Yordan, topping a bill that also features the likes of Skye Nicolson vs Tiara Brown, Cherneka Johnson’s rematch with Nina Hughes following their dramatic first fight ending, and the return of Teremoana Teremoana.
Kambosos has become a fan favorite due to his willingness to take on the big fights. Despite this, the Greek-Aussie has won just one of his four fights since his upset win over Teofimo Lopez, who explained why he slapped Arnold Barboza Jr. in their face-off.
Even that win has been criticized as a gift decision for the lightweight star.

Maxi Hughes feels like he was robbed against George Kambosos Jr.
In 2023, off the back of two consecutive losses to Devin Haney, Kambosos was matched up with ‘The Cinderella Man’ Maxi Hughes.
Hughes had a deceptive record at the time of 26-5-2, but had beaten domestic names such as Kid Galahad, as well as IBO world champion Jovanni Straffon.
The fight went the distance, and many were shocked as the scorecards were read out and Kambosos won a majority decision, with many believing the Brit did more than enough to pick up the majority of the rounds.
Even Shakur Stevenson, who was in attendance, reportedly believed Hughes was the rightful winner, according to an interviewer at Boxing Social.
Hughes spoke on the result, stating: “I’m truly devastated. […] People who thought I wasn’t in that league, that I couldn’t compete at that level, now know.”
He continued: “We see bad decisions all the time, looks like I fell victim to one.”
Kambosos maintained in his post-fight interview and beyond that he was the true winner.
Fans react to Maxi Hughes vs George Kambosos Jr.
Fans were quick to comment on the scoring, with one writing: “That 117-111 card is an absolute disgrace.”
Another put it concisely: “It was a robbery. Maxi Hughes deserved the belt.”
Fans were outraged at the scoring, and it seems the most vocal on social media were in support of Hughes:
“Another example of all that is wrong w boxing, Hughes clearly won the fight but the 117-111 score tells you all you need to know. Kambosos win is worth WAY more than Hughes win to the promoters and sanctioning body”
Despite the setback, Hughes has worked himself up once more to a good position after defeating Garry Cully in a shut-out decision in December. Despite being the underdog, Hughes won every single round.
Kambosos has since lost to Lomachenko, who recently explained that Gervonta Davis is his preferred next opponent.
