Former world champion who Devin Haney battered leaves fans concerned as he shows off bruises all over his body

Devin Haney is set to return to the ring against Jose Ramirez in Times Square in May, but it is one of his former opponents that has caused concern amongst fans.

Devin Haney is coming off a loss to Ryan Garcia, though the decision was overturned to a no-contest after Garcia was found guilty of using PEDs.

Garcia and Haney will share a card in May, as Haney takes on Ramirez in his comeback fight, whilst Garcia takes on former Gervonta Davis opponent, Rolly Romero. Haney fired back at Gabe Rosado after he said he believes Ramirez will cause an upset.

Haney’s last fight before the no-contest against Garcia was a one-sided beatdown of the Louisiana super-lightweight world champion to claim the title. Prograis has recently taken to social media, leaving fans concerned over unexplained marks all over his body.

Regis Prograis concerns fans in clip of bruises all over his body

Following Prograis’ loss to Haney, the Louisiana native took on Britain’s Jack Catterall, but once again fell short in a unanimous decision. He did, however, drop Catterall, who just lost his last fight against Oscar De La Hoya’s man – Arnold Barboza Jr., in the fifth round, but was dropped himself in the ninth.

Though retirement seemed on the cards for Rougarou, a recent post on social media has confirmed that Prograis will fight on. However this same video sparked concerns amongst fans due to a series of bruises on the body of Prograis.

Some fans mocked the markings, with comments such as:

“POV: after going 12 rounds with Haney…”

Whilst others expressed genuine concern:

“Damn prograis what happen.”

Others have dispelled any concern, though, by suggesting this is merely the result of cupping and muscle scraping therapy, which is the most likely case:

“Gua Sha it moves the blood flow around where there usually a lot of build up in certain areas mainly where you see all those red spots.”

Regis Prograis backed Jack Catterall years before losing to him

In 2022 Catterall lost a highly controversial decision to Josh Taylor, who Harlem Eubank wants to fight next, for the undisputed super lightweight titles.

Whilst Catterall did avenge this loss two years later, Prograis was one of many who believed the Chorley fighter rightfully beat the Scotsman in their first encounter, tweeting:

“Jack Catterall should be the 140lbs undisputed champion.”

This came a little under three years after Taylor defeated Prograis via majority decision in a close fight in London’s O2 Arena.
