Floyd Mayweather is one of the greatest fighters to ever do it, but has had moments of vulnerability, including in his 14th fight, when he was humiliated in front of his dad for the first time.
Floyd Mayweather racked up a record of 13-0 as a professional by February 1998.
He had won all of these fights with one key thing missing – his father. Floyd Mayweather Sr. had been in prison for drug trafficking and had never been in his son’s corner for a pro fight.
After his release Mayweather hoped to put on a show for his father, but was faced with a moment of vulnerability in the ring.

Floyd Mayweather was wobbled by Sam Girard in the first fight of his career where his father was in his corner
In 1998, Mayweather put his undefeated record on the line against 17-4 Sam Girard.
Girard was undoubtedly outclassed, as Mayweather dropped him in the first and second rounds before securing a dominant second-round KO.

However, it was in the second round that Mayweather faced trouble of his own, and had to deal with an overhand right from Girard that wobbled him, backing Mayweather onto the ropes.
Though he won, Mayweather, who paid for an opponent’s funeral, may not have anticipated such a difficult moment, especially not in front of his father.
Floyd Mayweather scored just one KO in the final eight years of his career
In the latter stage of Mayweather’s career, statement knockouts became few and far between.
After his cheap shot against Victor Ortiz, Mayweather failed to knock out a single opponent for eight years.

In those eight years he faced seven men including Marcos Maidana, who wore Mayweather’s tooth as a necklace, Canelo, who one judge scored a draw, and Andre Berto.
His final fight did allow him to secure a KO, though, when he faced debutant Conor McGregor in a huge crossover fight.
