However, this number rose significantly following the bout.
According to The Washington Times, the boxer managed to make an awe-inspiring $40 million.
As per reports, the warrior earned the same during his previous fight. During that bout, Mayweather was headbutted by Victor Ortiz.
While his night ended in a defeat, the blow was softened for Cotto, who received $8 million, which then reportedly rose to $10 million.
