Fabio Wardley decimated white-collar opponent who had a car crash on his way to fight

Fabio Wardley will face Jarrell Miller in a homecoming fight at Portman Road Stadium.

Fabio Wardley made his mark on the heavyweight division in his latest fight against Frazer Clarke.

The pair fought to a draw in their first encounter, but the rematch couldn’t have been any more different, as Wardley blasted Clarke inside the opening round.

Wardley is now a few fights away from world title contention, which is hard to believe given he has no amateur background, and only had four white-collar fights before going pro.

“I had no business competing”… Fabio Wardley’s white-collar foe on his loss to Ipswich KO artist

Wardley’s record now sits at 18-0-1, and just one of his wins has come by a points decision, which was a four-rounder in which he made his debut.

The Ipswich man has either stopped or dropped every man he has faced and has won by stoppage in every fight he’s had for the last eight years.

Wardley has no background in the amateurs and is said to have had just four white-collar fights before turning pro, yet has soared to the heights of beating an Olympian in Clarke. Clarke’s loss to Wardley saw the Olympian requiring oxygen and suffering a dent in his head.

One of his former white-collar opponents, Eric Sutton, spoke on boxing Wardley:

“I am 5’7″ and 100kg, I had no business competing at heavyweight.”

When asked about the bout itself, Sutton said: “Not really much to tell, I took it last minute, had a car crash on the way up there and it was over in two rounds.”

Sutton, who has around “350 unlicensed fights” didn’t elaborate further, though footage of their bout shows the size difference he mentioned, as well as Wardley’s formidable power.

The pair fought just under a year before Wardley’s pro debut.

Fabio Wardley to face Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller next

According to The Ring, Wardley will face Jarrell Miller next in Ipswich Football Club’s home turf of Portman Road.

Miller is 26-1-2, with 22 knockouts to his name. He is, however, coming off of two disappointing results, having lost to Daniel Dubois by TKO with eight seconds left on the clock, and more recently fighting to a draw with Andy Ruiz Jr., who punched his trainer in the face, though many believe Miller won.

Miller is an experienced operator, but has fallen short at every step up, and his most notable wins have come against Lucas Browne, Mariusz Wach, and Gerald Washington.

Turki Alalshikh was keen to make Miller vs Kubrat Pulev, but this has not happened.

The fight is sure to be interesting, as fans hope to see just how far Wardley, who trains under Ben Davison, can go.
