Evander Holyfield defeated Brian Nielsen in the last fight of his career

On May 7, 2011, Evander Holyfield battled it out with Brian Nielsen inside the Koncerthuset in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Intent on giving the fans one last show, the American came out aggressively, looking to land big shots on his rival.

Showcasing his class, Holyfield began connecting with hard jabs, with the Dane having to cover up.

By the fourth round, Nielsen began suffering from a swollen eye, and struggled to see the shots coming in his direction.

However, in a testament to his fighting heart, in round eight, the former IBO champion bit down on his gumshield and began detonating explosive combinations on the future Hall of Famer.

But utilizing his fight IQ, Holyfield rode out the storm before landing powerful blows in the tenth that forced the referee to jump in.

While his victory over Nielsen was a nice way to go out, it certainly wasn’t the best win of his career.

In a match-up between two of the best to ever lace up the gloves, the former cruiserweight champion put his WBA, WBC and IBF heavyweight world titles on the line against George Foreman.

The pair engaged in a thrilling contest that left the fans on the edge of their seats.

In an epic moment, Holyfield unleashed a 15-second combination on Foreman.
