Errol Spence made an impressive return after his car crash by defending his world titles against a two-weight world champion.

On October 10, 2019, the American was involved in an accident, which left him hospitalized in the intensive care unit.

After six days in hospital, he was released, and quickly set his sights on getting back in the boxing ring.

However, it took over a year for Spence to finally get back under the lights.

Errol Spence defeated Danny Garcia in his first fight back after his car crash

On December 5, 2020, Errol Spence put his IBF and WBC championship belts on the line against Danny Garcia, at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, USA.

Going into the contest, fans had their concerns for ‘The Truth’. Taking the fighter’s accident into account, Spence’s supporters feared he wouldn’t be the same man who beat Kell Brook.

However, their worries were quickly settled, when their hero came out intent on proving a point, taking center ring, and landing punishing body shots.

But his opponent hadn’t come to make up the numbers, connecting with heavy hooks of his own.

As the rounds rolled by, Spence began to take over, utilizing his thudding jab to dictate the action.

He also detonated several explosive shots that hurt his rival.

At the end of the contest, Spence won via unanimous decision, proving he was a long way from done.

After overcoming Garcia, Spence received the opportunity of a lifetime.

The pound-for-pound star was scheduled to box Manny Pacquiao, until an injury ruined his hopes of sharing the squared circle with the icon.

In the end, the Filipino ended up getting beaten by another gifted competitor.

Determined to prove himself, Spence avenged Pacquiao’s loss by defeating a world champion.
