Deontay Wilder is set to begin the road to career revival later this month against Tyrrell Herndon.
Deontay Wilder is desperately vying for a win at the end of the month against 24-5 Tyrrell Herndon, who got advice from Buster Douglas, as another loss would surely mean retirement, with Wilder having won just one fight in his last five.
The once-feared ‘Bronze Bomber’ must win if his career is to continue, with talks of the Anthony Joshua fight still on the table, as Joshua, too, hopes to return to winning ways.
If it is the end, then Wilder has had a fantastic career, including some bizarre moments, like when he headlined a hometown shopping mall.

Deontay Wilder defeated Owen Beck in shopping mall contest
In 2012, Wilder, who KO’d an ESPN mascot once, had his 23rd fight against 29-10 Owen Beck. Beck was on a seven-fight losing streak before facing Wilder, with only one coming by decision.

Beck had challenged for the WBA world title in 2006, but was beaten in three rounds by Nikolai Valuev, boxing’s tallest heavyweight.
The fight took place in the McFarland Mall in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and saw Wilder drop Beck once in round one, once in round two, and twice in round three.
Beck did not come out for the fourth round.
Deontay Wilder has gone the distance just three times, to very mixed results
Wilder is known as a fierce KO machine, but has gone the distance three times in his 48-fight career:
2015 – Bermane Stiverne – Win – UD12 (Wilder’s first world title contest)

2018 – Tyson Fury – Draw – SD12
2023 – Joseph Parker – Loss – UD12 (Wilder lost almost every round)
