Following his classic rivalry with Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder bounced back in true ‘Bronze Bomber’ fashion, leaving Robert Helenius stiff on the floor after landing a huge KO.
Deontay Wilder‘s epic trilogy against Tyson Fury began back in 2018 when they met for the WBC World Heavyweight Title.
‘The Bronze Bomber’ was seemingly heading toward a win when he knocked ‘The Gypsy King’ down in round 9. Despite that, Fury showed his patented grit and recoverability and turned the tide of the fight in rounds 10 and 11.
Wilder then knocked the Brit down again in round 12 and it seemed as though Fury was out for the count. However, he once again beat the count and made it back to his feet and the fight was subsequently scored split draw.

The two then went on to compete in a classic rematch two years later after Wilder scored two more emphatic KO wins.
Their second meeting, though, was far more cut and dry than their first as Fury picked up the win after Wilder’s corner threw in the towel in round 7 to save him from any more damage.
The culmination of their trilogy went in a similar direction as ‘The Gypsy King’ scored a huge KO in the eleventh round, putting a stamp on their epic rivalry.
Although many wrote Wilder off after the devastating KO inflicted by the Brit, he then bounced back in his next fight after that, rendering Robert Helenius unconscious.
In the very first round, Wilder turned back the clock by landing a hellacious right hand which he became so famous for, showing the boxing world that he still had something to give in the heavyweight division.
The scene that proceeded was pretty terrifying as the 253lb Helenius folded to the ground and lay stiff on the canvas with his eyes wide open.

Unfortunately for the 39-year-old, his career then once again took a slight u-turn. Over a year after scoring the terrifying KO over Helenius, Wilder returned to take on Joseph Parker, losing a unanimous decision.
Six months after that, Wilder was handed his third career loss by KO when big Chinese heavyweight, Zhilei Zhang knocked him out in the fifth round of their main event fight.
Despite calls from fans for Wilder to retire after suffering four losses in his last five fights, Wilder is hoping to make his return to the ring in 2025 and reportedly has some big things planned.
