There are few fighters in boxing history who can be compared to Deontay Wilder in terms of sheer knockout power.
Wilder can rival Mike Tyson, one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time, in terms of his fear factor and stopping ability. Wilder even avenged his first fight that did not end in a stoppage with a brutal knockout, as few have survived ‘The Bronze Bomber’s’ power.
Suffering defeat for the first time in his second meeting with Tyson Fury, it was two losses in a row for Wilder in 2020 and 2021.
Despite the disappointing losses for Wilder to his rival, he was able to return to the ring with a vintage performance in 2022.

Deontay Wilder knocked out Robert Helenius in round one in 2022
Wilder’s second loss to Fury came in October 2021, suffering a knockout defeat. This meant that following the stoppage, Wilder would not return to the ring for one year.
In October 2022, Wilder would face Robert Helenius in his comeback fight in Brooklyn. The Finnish fighter had a professional record of 31-3, with Derek Chisora and Dillian Whyte as former opponents.
However, Helenius would not be able to earn the 32nd win of his career. Instead, he suffered a brutal loss.
With just the third punch that Wilder landed, he would be able to put the fighter from Finland down and out. A sharp right hand would find an approaching Helenius, who immediately fell to his back.
Helenius was immediately waved off as he lay dazed on the canvas as Wilder celebrated his comeback victory. However, it would not be the start of a good streak for Wilder.
Deontay Wilder suffered back-to-back losses following Robert Helenius win
Despite looking impressive as he bounced back from his Tyson Fury rivalry, Wilder could not continue his good form.
Returning to the ring in December 2023, Wilder would suffer the third defeat of his career to Joseph Parker. Although Wilder disregarded Parker’s power, the New Zealander secured a dominant decision victory.

Six months after his loss to Parker, Wilder would face Zhilei Zhang in June 2024. However, the Chinese veteran would dispose of Wilder with a fifth-round TKO.
Wilder’s record fell to 43-4-1 with the successive losses. However, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ will look for his 44th win in June 2025, when Wilder takes on Tyrrell Herndon.
