Daniel Dubois’ much-anticipated rematch with Oleksandr Usyk has just been announced for July 19th in Wembley Stadium.
Daniel Dubois has been on a supremely impressive run of form, following up his noble yet unfruitful effort against Oleksandr Usyk with stoppage wins over Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic, and Anthony Joshua.
Dubois seeks to right the wrongs of his career, and with Joe Joyce, who fractured Dubois’ eye socket, nearing the end of his career and unable to put up a competitive fight anymore, Usyk is the only man Dubois will get a chance against.
It was a year before his fight with Usyk that Dubois scored his first world title victory.

Daniel Dubois stopped Trevor Bryan in four rounds to claim Regular title
In 2022, Dubois faced 22-0 Trevor Bryan in Miami, Florida for the WBA Regular world title. The event, which was bizarrely one of the last hosted by Don King Promotions, saw Dubois steamroll Bryan in just four rounds, scoring a KO win over the veteran.
The build-up to the fight had been a heated one, making Dubois’ victory that much more sweet.
Bryan has wins over Bermane Stiverne, who broke Deontay Wilder’s 32-KO streak and BJ Flores, Jake Paul‘s former boxing coach and Tony Bellew opponent.
It was this fight that propelled Dubois into a contest with Kevin Lerena. Lerena dropped Dubois three times in round one, but lost a couple rounds later.
Daniel Dubois wants to put low-blow controversy to bed in Oleksandr Usyk rematch
Dubois, who has an 87.5% KO rate, will rematch Usyk, who has beaten Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury twice, this Summer in the UK after their first fight displayed perhaps the only questionable moment of Usyk’s stellar career.
The pair first fought in 2023 in Poland, and the controversy came when Dubois landed a shot on Usyk in the fifth round that sent him to the canvas.
Usyk was left gasping for air but the referee did not begin a count, claiming the blow was low. Fans and pundits have been divided into two camps over the moment, with many believing it was a legal shot.
