Conor Benn retired three opponents in a row ahead of his break from boxing, including two former world champions

Conor Benn will face Chris Eubank Jr. on April 26th in the biggest fight of his career to date.

Conor Benn‘s record remains perfect with 23 wins and no losses. ‘The Destroyer’ has fought just once a year for the last three years due to troubles outside the ring, with Benn alleged to have been using PEDs.

The Brit has since been cleared of any wrongdoing and will go ahead with the Chris Eubank Jr. fight, which was initially set for 2022.

It was his final fight before his troubles began that saw the son of Nigel Benn live up to his ‘Destroyer’ nickname as he folded a former world champion with a brutal knockout.

In 2021, coming off of wins over Adrian Granados, Samuel Vargas, and Sebastian Formella, Benn stepped up in opposition to face then 25-3 Chris Algieri.

Algieri’s losses had come only at the hands of elite opposition such as Manny Pacquiao, Errol Spence Jr., and Amir Khan. Spence was the only one of these three to stop Algieri, which he did in the fifth round.

Benn dropped Algieri in the second round before closing the show in the fourth with 1-2 that sent Algieri crumpling to the canvas.

Benn followed up this success with a win over Chris Van Heerden in 2022, who he KO’d in two rounds. Van Heerden had only been stopped once before, and had faced the likes of Jaron Ennis, Matthew Hatton, and Errol Spence Jr. He held the IBO welterweight world title.

The loss was the most devastating of Van Heerden’s career and he retired shortly after. Benn was suspended from boxing pending an investigation into banned substances later that year, though was cleared after a lengthy ordeal.

Before facing Algieri Benn was matched up with Adrian Granados, a 21-8-3 opponent who had mixed with the likes of Danny Garcia, Shawn Porter, and Adrien Broner.

Benn, who was dropped twice by Cedrick Peynaud, won on a wide unanimous decision, but was frustrated as Granados ran from Benn the whole fight.

Algieri, Van Heerden, and Granados all retired after their fights with Benn, who KO’d Vargas in 80 seconds.

Conor Benn hopes to be the second man to KO Chris Eubank Jr. later this month

Benn and Eubank Jr. will continue the legacies of their fathers’ as they face off in one of Britain’s biggest domestic grudge matches in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 26th.

The undercard will see Viddal Riley face Chev Clarke, Chris Billam-Smith vs Brandon Glanton, Liam Smith vs Aaron McKenna, and Anthony Yarde vs Lyndon Arthur 3.

Eubank Jr. has lost three times now, with two decision losses to George Groves and Billy Joe Saunders, and one KO defeat to Liam Smith.

Eubank Jr. was restrained by Team Smith after attempting to fight on following the ref’s decision to call the fight off.

He avenged the defeat in their rematch, becoming the second person ever to stop Smith, Canelo being the only other.
