Conor Benn had a destructive 80-second KO to extend unbeaten record

The son of the British boxing legend Nigel Benn is aiming to replicate his father’s legacy.

‘The Destroyer’ Conor Benn is a huge name in British boxing as the undefeated fighter is set to take on bitter rival Chris Eubank Jr.

With a professional record of 23-0, no man has been able to get the better of the fighter in his career.

Debuting in 2016, Benn is aiming towards becoming a world champion, so that he can follow in the footsteps of his father. Although he hasn’t yet got the opportunity, he has had some impressive performances that have shown his quality.

One example of this is an incredible first-round knockout he earned in 2021.

Conor Benn knocked out Samuel Vargas in 80 seconds in 2021

‘The Destroyer’ had one of the most brutal performances of his life in April 2021 when he took on Samuel Vargas in London.

Although there were no fans in attendance due to Covid-19 regulations, the knockout was a notable one as Benn impressed.

Vargas had a professional record of 31-6-2 going into the bout and had faced Vergil Ortiz Jr. in his previous outing. However, Benn would be nothing short of impressive in the bout.

The bout was the toughest test of Benn’s career to that point, although, he made the fight look easy.

After just a minute of action, Benn would find the mark with his incredibly fast and accurate punches. Backing his opponent up, the barrage of shots would be too much for Vargas to handle, with the referee eventually stepping in to stop the short fight.

The win extended a 24-year-old Benn’s record to 17-0, as Vargas suffered the seventh loss of his career.

Conor Benn will face Chris Eubank Jr. off the back of shut-out win over undefeated fighter

When Benn faces Eubank Jr. in April 2025, it will be his first time in the ring in over 14 months. However, in his last outing, Benn had a dominant performance against undefeated fighter Peter Dobson (16-0).

Benn won the fight via unanimous decision as the two fought in Las Vegas. The judges scored the contest 118-110, 118-110, and 119-109 for the British fighter, whose record improved to 23-0.

However, Eubank Jr. will undoubtedly be the biggest challenge of Benn’s career, as he looks to avenge his father’s fight series with Chris Eubank.
